Back Roads, Charming Towns is an interactive, information portal exploring great places to relax, relocate and retire. Locations and destinations with "personalities." Places that possess a joie de vivre.

By participating in our forum, you will find valuable information on:

  • locating reasonable and fulfilling places to relocate and/or retire; and
  • fascinating places to visit close to home, in light of demands on time and resources.

About Vikki

A marketing executive with professional experience in publishing, event planning, interior design and real estate, Vikki brings an insightful and unpretentious perspective to exploring and experiencing the back roads of America. She has personally lived or worked in 20% of the country and has visited over 70% of the United States (with a commitment to tour the remaining states in the next 12 months).

When not visiting back roads or charming towns, she lives in one of the America's many enchanting destinations -- Basking Ridge -- with her husband, Ken, and children, Stirling and Alex. Stirling (below right) works on Back Roads, Charming Towns as a research intern and staff writer; Alex (below left) shares his talents as a photographer.   

Currently, Vikki is working on two books on travel and weekend entertaining.
